About Us

Sor ‘Eva first opened its doors to the public in 1937 .

It can still be found today at its original location in the heart of Rome,, at the base of Gianicolo, one of the Seven Hills of Rome.

Sor’Eva is named after it’s first owner, a lady named Eva, and initially was only a cellar where wine could be purchased, but shortly afterwards Eva’s culinary expertise emerged allowing the winery to become a restaurant, inspired by traditional Roman cuisine..

After many years of dedication Mrs. Eva decides to hand over, in 1953, to two brothers named Richetto and Giovanni.

These two brothers carried on the tradition for many years until, in 1995, Sor’Eva was passed in to the capable hands of the current owners, Luigi and Marco. Today, Sor’Eva mantains its original atmosphere and continues in its Roman traditions.

Since 1937 many people have passed through our doors, and for this we consider ourselves fortunate. Whether our clients order Carbonara or Amatriciana is not the issue, as our ultimate goal is always to keep our clients satisfied.

Sor’Eva not only offers you the opportunity to enjoy good food, it also allows you to be a part of our traditions.

We are waiting for you.. Come and visit us in Rome, Piazza della Rovere 108/108a .
